Hello, blog world. I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me.
Not quite. *cue ominous laughter*
My summer has been pretty much nonstop since we last talked. But hey, what else is new?
Let's catch you up to speed. In the past month-ish, Maranda:
- traveled to Europe with my sister where we visited 4 countries and around 15 cities (more on that later) and saw Lana Del Rey in the flesh (still freaking out over here)
- started working as an associate (that's code for "intern") at Knoxville Entrepreneur Center where I help other startup businesses get on their feet
- has been trying to soak up every drop of summer that I can in my free time
Which brings me to the point of my post.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! Yes, I know I'm late. It's what I do best.
I had the awesome opportunity to spend the weekend at my family's place on the lake with friends and family. We kayaked, paddle boarded, grilled out, and enjoyed the sun and water. It's one of my favorite Independence Day family traditions.
Yesterday Parker and I party-hopped our way from my family to his family and ended the night with a good ole small town fireworks show. How romantic, right?
If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I never do things halfway.
Independence Day 2k16 was no different.
I decided to go for a retro look to celebrate America's 240th birthday, with a little bit of suburban mom fashion thrown in.
I want to say that my entire outfit was thrifted, but if I'm being totally honest, I have no clue where my Tommy Hilfiger shorts came from. Most likely they're from one of my two favorite places: one of my aunts or Goodwill.
My shirt and shoes both came from Goodwill, and I found those killer shoes at the Goodwill Vintage Fashion Show years ago. The bow is from Forever 21, one of my favorite places to shop for accessories.
As always, Milo decided to join the photoshoot fun.
What did you do for your 4th of July weekend? How do you get dressed up for your favorite holidays? Tell me about it in the comments below!
