Life is great. When you come to a busy season of life, it's important to make the most of every moment and to still make time for peace. I'm in The Importance of Being Earnest at my university and we open a week from tonight (ah!). I've been juggling school work and personal projects that I can't wait to share. I'm absolutely thrilled at the positive response to my blog; I hope to do a makeup tutorial soon and plan to post my art. Feel free to comment post ideas!
Winter has decided to make another grand appearance here in East Tennessee. For the most part I've been bundling up in layers of sweaters, scarves, hats, and huge jackets. Today was a little warmer so I decided to brave the cold and wear some of my over-the-knee stockings with a skirt (don't worry, my legs were only a little numb).
In my last post on Thrifting 101, I revealed my favorite thrifting tip: mix and match the old with the new. Today's outfit features a blend of both (and anything that wasn't thrifted was bought on sale). My outfits usually either a) consist of no more than 3-4 colors that match perfectly or b) are a dozen different colors. This look is an instance of the latter option; I pulled together several different wintry jewel tones with black accessories.
I'm slightly obsessed with maroon and the infinity scarf has been one of my best friends this winter. The high waisted skirt felt a little lonely, so I belted it and added a long J. Crew cardigan (yes, J. Crew from Goodwill!).
What's your favorite season to dress for?
Stay warm, winter birds!
